The Honaki Cliff Dwellings

The homes are built near the base of this cliff.

This wooden post above the window is more than a 1000 years old and says a great deal about these people.

This is the entrance to the cliff homes.

This is a hand print of the person who applied the mortar.

Kim from the site. She's so bored and this is only the second day. (Ten miles on a dirt road and about a mile walk on a semipaved traiI...) I respected that this may be a working archeological site and I touched nothing, changed nothing and removed nothing.

Walnut Canyon:

The trail to the canyon homes was destroyed by a land slide a few months ago.

This pit is nearly 3000 years old.

This site predates the so-callled Singua people of Walnut Canyon.
